Synthesis, characterization, and electromagnetic properties of polypyrrole–barium hexaferrite composites for EMI shielding applications

Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate the electromagnetic (EM) properties hybrid materials made from polypyrrole (PPy) and barium hexaferrite (HF) for possible use in interference (EMI) shielding applications. X-ray diffraction Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy methods were used confirm presence PPy HF phases inside structure. A scanning electron microscope analysis revealed that particles evenly dispersed throughout composites’ dielectric magnetic attributes evaluated across a spectrum frequencies, with highest values observed specimen. Adding matrix altered composite, percentage composite influencing its dominance over these properties. It determined 25% content produced most stable efficient absorbing EM waves X-band. This demonstrates potential conductive polymer composites EMI applications, advantages, such as improved shielding, lightweight, flexibility, corrosion resistance, tailored novelty lies optimizing composition PPy/HF characterization properties, providing insights into design more materials.
